Bank guarantee (indemnity)

A bank guarantee or indemnity is a bank obligation to pay the guarantee beneficiary a certain sum or a part of it if the bank's client, on whose behalf the bank provided the guarantee, is unable to fulfil on time and/or properly his obligations to the guarantee beneficiary.

A guarantee or indemnity will help to reduce the risk of a transaction and gain the trust of the partners as well as ensure the fulfilment of the transaction's liabilities.

Danske Bankas offers the following guarantees:

  • a performance guarantee ensures the proper performance of contractual obligations;
  • a payment guarantee ensures the performance of payment obligations;
  • a loan repayment guarantee ensures the repayment of a loan and the payment of the interest;
  • various other guarantees, which Danske Bankas will provide according to your needs.
