At the end of the year 2009, the European Union (EU) Payment Services Directive (PSD) was incorporated into the Lithuanian national legislation, which allowed establishing an up-to-date and coherent legal basis for the provision of payment services in all the countries of the EU and the European Economic Area.
The provisions of the Directive implemented by the Act amending the Law on Payments grants the customer more rights, advantages and clarity when using financial services.
One of the most significant changes is the new Bank Account Agreement and the Terms and Conditions for Provision of Payment Services – a new document, which will become an inseparable part of the Bank Account Agreement for the current and new customers of Danske Bankas; both shall come into force on the 8th of March 2010.
If you do not accept the new changes, you have the right to terminate the Agreement with the Bank. You can do that at the nearest Danske Bankas division.
The new documents are available temporarily in Lithuanian only.
