Starting today, Danske Bankas is offering a deposit concept new to the market: a client will receive insurance for his or her household property as a gift after making a deposit.
Starting today and continuing until November 30, any person who makes a deposit at Danske Bankas of at least LTL 10,000 (or EUR 2,900) for at least 3 months will receive insurance for his or her household property in the amount corresponding to the amount of the deposit for the entire term of the deposit agreement.
“In the process of communicating with our clients, we noticed a rather strange trend: although everyone acknowledges and understands the possibility of the theft of household property or of other types of potential damage to such property, people are not in a hurry to insure their property”, Mindaugas Dambrauskas, manager of Danske Bankas Product Management Department, said. “People usually think ‘this will never happen to me’ and often do not take out insurance due to the supposedly excessive investment of time and money. With the goal of encouraging a more responsible attitude towards the safety of property and debunking the existing myths, we decided to provide household property insurance as a gift”, Mr Dambrauskas said.
This offer may be used by any person, even if he or she is not currently a Danske Bankas client. A deposit may be made either at a bank branch or online by means of Danske eBank.
If the deposit is from LTL 10,000 to LTL 30,000, the client’s property will be insured for LTL 30,000. If the deposit is from LTL 30,000 to LTL 100,000 (or the equivalent in euros), the sum insured will equal the amount of the deposit. The type of insurance coverage will be determined after considering the sum insured: it may be basic insurance or insurance against certain additional risks.
For his or her deposit, the client will receive the standard interest rate valid at Danske Bankas on the day the agreement is finalised.
“This promotion is aimed at demonstrating the advantages of property insurance: that property insurance is simple, costs a moderate amount, and if an insured event occurs, at least the material losses are compensated. We hope that the people interested in our offer will spend some time considering the safety of their property, because it is a wise thing to think about one’s safety”, Mr Dambrauskas added.
