Usage of digipass

Danske eBank authentication token (digipass) is a device intended for identification of users in Danske eBank system, which complies with the highest security requirements and ensures an unlimited number of different passwords.

  • When using Danske eBank digipass you will be fully protected from log-in password thefts (phishing).
  • The 4,000 LTL daily transaction limit will not be applicable to Danske eBank users who use digipass.
  • For the convenience of present Danske eBank users, we offer an opportunity to change their password cards to digipass by ordering Danske eBank digipass sent by post.
  • We recommend new Danske eBank users to choose the digipass at the moment of concluding of Danske eBank agreement.

How do you order your Danske eBank digipass to be sent by post?

After you log in to Danske eBank, select from the menu "Info", "Messages" and click "New Message".

In the newly opened message window:

1. In the Subject field, enter "Digipass ordering";

2. Indicate the following in the Message field:
  • your wish to change your password card to a digipass;
  • the address, to which you would like the digipass to be sent (we recommend that you check your postal code at Lietuvos Paštas AB website);
  • your contact telephone number, to which a bank employee can call you in case of any questions;
  • you may also wish to enter other additional information.

If you represent an organisation or several users of Danske eBank, please remember that a legally valid request may be submitted only by the Danske eBank user having the first signature right. In your request, please specify for which specific Danske eBank users you want password cards to be changed to digipass.

After you complete the message form, click "Send".

3. After you have successfully performed all the steps, you will see a confirmation of sending of the message. Please click "OK".

We will send the digipass to you within two business days after receiving the request.

You will be charged (from your account) for Danske eBank digipass when it is sent out.

Digipass at a glance

Digipass is the safest password storage tool, which identify the user in the e-banking system.

Digipass elements:

Creation of the PIN code
In order to turn on or off the digipass, press the turn-on button.


 
The new digipass can be turned on by pressing a button marked with a triangle (a turn-on button) and subsequently pressing a button marked with a lock.

 
After you turn on your digipass for the first time, you will have to create the PIN code. On the screen, you will see the words NEW PIN and 4 dashes.

New digipass:
When entering a new PIN code, the level of its security is checked. That is, when entering a PIN code, e.g., 1111 or 1234, the screen shows NOT SAFE PIN. Enter a safer PIN code then.




Create and enter a 4-digit digipass security password (PIN). After you see the words PIN CONF on the screen, enter the same PIN once again.

When you see the words NEW PIN CONF on the screen, the digipass is ready (PIN has been created).
Logging-in to Danske eBank
Enter Danske eBank internet address https://ebankas.danskebankas.lt, and then enter your log-in data in the newly opened window:

In the User ID field, enter your ID indicated in the bank account special part.

In the Password field, enter the initial password indicated in the initial password envelope.
Important information
Please do not throw away the initial password envelope! If you forget the password, you will need to visit the bank.

Please enter the digipass response in the newly opened window:
In order to receive the digipass response:

Turn on your digipass. On the digipass screen, you will see the request to enter the PIN.

Please enter the PIN, which you created when you turned on your digipass for the first time. If the PIN you enter is correct, 6 dashes will appear on the screen.

Enter the number of the password requested by Danske eBank system.

On the digipass screen, you will see the password which you have to enter in the reply field indicated in Danske eBank.
If you entered an incorrect PIN, press the digipass turn-on button and repeat the steps described in paragraph 3. If you enter an incorrect PIN three times, the digipass will be blocked. Here you will find the instructions as how to unblock your digipass.
Verification of transactions
When performing a payment transaction, you must verify it by a password generated by your digipass.
Changing of the PIN code
Please turn on your digipass, and then enter your PIN code. Keep the turn-on button pressed for more than 5 seconds. On the screen, you will see the words NEW PIN.

Create and enter a 4-digit digipass protection password (PIN). After the words PIN CONF appear on the screen, enter the same PIN once again.

After the words NEW PIN CONF appear on the screen, the new PIN code will become valid.
Unblocking of the digipass
The same seven-symbol code is always displayed on the screen of the turned-on digipass that has been blocked.
The digipass may be unblocked only by a responsible representative of Danske Bankas; therefore, you will need to visit the nearest bank branch (please make sure that you produce an ID document).
